Mike’s career has followed 5 distinct but parallel tracks.
Mike spent 15 years launching and growing churches in Tennessee, South Carolina, and Texas. He is a graduate of the Evangelical Institute, Flagler College, and Dallas Theological Seminary. He is still very active in church leadership, teaching, and writing on spiritual subjects.
International Business Incubator
As founder of the Jholdas Project and now Third Path Initiative, Mike has been involved in programs that launch and scale small businesses around the world, especially among the persecuted and impoverished. He is a regular speaker at international business conferences and has written prolifically on the subject of social enterprise, business as mission, and poverty alleviation.
Leadership Developer and Culture Builder
Mike has worked with large and small companies, including TRC Staffing, Turner Broadcasting, the Federal Reserve Bank, Cape Environmental, CredAbility, HyperSign, and Case Tractor. With a broad experience of leadership development, turnarounds, organizational change management, strategy development, lean process improvement, startups and scale ups, Mike has the context for leadership, coaching and culture. Mike authored How to Be Big and Yet Small, a short manual on keeping the cultural magic in times of change and growth.
Staffing Industry Expert
With over 30 years in the industry, Mike has led regions, provided lean transformation facilitation, people development, culture definition and reinforcement, and strategic guidance to many staffing companies, most notably, EmployBridge, the largest light industrial staffing firm in the United States.
Husband, Father, Grandfather
Mike and his wife of over 40 years live in the mountains of North Carolina where she operates an award winning bed & breakfast inn. They have two married daughters, 7 grandchildren, and a world famous Golden Retriever, (aka, Callie the Flag Eating Dog).
